With knowledge, nations rise, reform and restore what is broken in it, that's why the founding entity has took over to invest in human development, which is the foundation and core of society to achieve the goals of comprehensive development in our new Iraq. Starting from the highest values of our ancient civilization and because we are the first to write the letter and to prepare for a bright future, the beginning has been since 2017 by drawing a map to achieve this. Efforts were combined to provide the elements of an ideal and attractive university environment at all levels, from urban development that strengthens the student’s connection to his glorious cultural heritage and his promising future by integrating it with technological development to keep pace with the great development and advance the reality of education and according to the Ministry’s vision, to move towards digital universities and we have provided all the requirements for that. The university has witnessed qualitative leaps in the number of buildings, scientific colleges and scientific laboratories, as the scientific colleges expanded by attracting scientific competencies and interest in scientific research. We have worked for scientific cooperation between international and local universities and will not be content with this development, we are moving forward, we will support you to improve education and overcome obstacles to achieve our goals and make our first university in line with its vision and mission for which it was established.
The College of Dentistry aims to serve as a national model in education, research, and specialized dental services, with a strong focus on the needs of the Iraqi community. Furthermore, the college is keen on prepare students who are capable of working in both the public and private sectors, as well as contributing to the delivery of advanced dental care in Iraq just as some of its graduates are currently serving the Iraqi community within the college itself.
The mission of the College of Dentistry is to qualify and train students in accordance with rigorous scientific curricula that align with international developments in the field of dentistry, graduating them as professional dentists capable of delivering healthcare services to the community through the diagnosis of oral diseases and the provision of appropriate treatments.
Furthermore, the educational strategy of the College of Dentistry focuses on:
– Delivering high-quality medical education, clinical training, research opportunities, and community engagement. This includes curriculum development, faculty training, and student support, ensuring that graduates are fully prepared to practice the profession in a professional manner.
– Objectives related to academic excellence, clinical training, research opportunities, and community engagement, preparing students for successful career pathways in dentistry, it emphasizes a comprehensive approach, modern facilities, experienced faculty, and a commitment to ethical and compassionate patient care.

To achieve this vision, the following mission must be fulfilled:
– Graduating competent dentists capable of adopting and practicing dentistry in accordance with advanced professional standards, effectively communicating with the public, and delivering oral healthcare services within an appropriate cultural, social, and ethical framework.
– Graduating dentists capable of managing community health services by adopting a comprehensive vision of oral health, committing to the development of specialized healthcare services in this field, and contributing to raising awareness of oral and dental health.
– Graduating dentists capable of actively managing individual healthcare services through the application of scientific and research-based methodologies, grounded in expertise in case diagnosis and treatment planning.
– Graduating dentists capable of leading dental healthcare teams by fostering a spirit of teamwork, managing diverse resources, and leveraging information technology for effective communication and administration.

At the beginning of a new academic year, I am pleased to extend my warmest welcome to you at the College of Dentistry, Al-Turath University an institution that continually strives to be a distinguished academic environment, combining academic rigor with ethical and human commitment.
Since its establishment, our College has set a noble goal of preparing a dentist who possesses knowledge, expertise, and clinical skills, alongside strong human values and a sense of responsibility toward the community and patients. We continuously work on developing our curricula, upgrading our laboratories and teaching clinics, and adopting the latest educational and research methods to keep pace with global advancements in the field of dentistry.
Dear Students, your journey at this College is not merely an academic pursuit, but a process of building a well-rounded personality, refining your scientific and practical skills, and preparing you for the future as dentists capable of competing locally, regionally, and internationally. Therefore, diligence, discipline, commitment, and teamwork will be your path to success and excellence.

Dr. Tahani Abdel Aziz Jaafar Al-Sandoq is an associate professor of oral and dental medicine and surgery, and currently serves as the dean of the College of Dentistry at Al-Turath University. She holds a subspecialty degree in Dental PharmacologyThis is also her primary research area, in which she has made distinguished scientific contributions, Dr. Tahani has extensive academic and administrative experience spanning over two decades, having held several leadership positions at prestigious educational institutions, including the Chair of the Department of Oral and Dental Surgery at the University of Mosul, followed by the Deanship of the College of Dentistry at the same university between 2005 and 2013. She also post as a cultural advisor in Washington between 2014 and 2018, then as Chair of the Department of Dentistry at Al-Turath College from 2019 to 2021, before becoming President of Al-Mashreq University from 2021 to 2022. Dr. Tahani is known for her advanced scientific and administrative vision, which has contributed to the development of academic and research programs at the institutions she has managed.
